Indonesia- There goes the rooster! AGAIN.

Dear Friend,

Yesterday was like a dream. Not necessarily a good dream, but nor was it a bad dream. Just a dream. Today too. Yesterday, two very lovely friends of mine- Keerti and Sheryl, came to send me off at the airport. Keerti's dad, along with me, expected me to cry at the airport. I didn't shed a tear. It just didn't feel like I was leaving for good. It didn't feel like that was the last time (at least, somewhat the last time) being in Changi Airport. Even on the plane, I didn't cry. They had really good food. And I watched Step Up Revolution. A bit of it. Because it was only an hour's flight. Only when we were waiting for the luggage to come (mind you, the conveyor belt in Soekarno-Hatta Airport takes quite a bit of time), did I start reminiscing Singapore and there, in the crowd of other passangers, did I start crying. Bit embarrassing, but it felt good to let it all out. So, yesterday, after arriving in Indonesia, I was a bundle of tears up until I fell asleep to the sounds of a random Indonesian jazz band.

Mornings in Indonesia are lovely. Nice and breezy, and- there goes the rooster. Should be the 16th time it's cuckoo'ed today. Crazy rooster. But it feels great to listen to roosters instead of honking cars. I'm staying in my gramma's house in Indonesia, until my family can find and buy a new house. Gramma's house is in the neighbourhood, and it's pretty calm and old and VERY VERY VERY VERY hot. But I guess I ought to get used to it. Dad said we won't have too much air con here. I really miss my friends back in Singapore, even the school(s).

Did I mention, school starts tomorrow? Yeah. While my Singapore friends get several months' break (that I too deserve), I'll be starting at a new school in Indonesia. Only a day after I move. Ugh. A couple months ago, I went to be tested to get into the school, and I got through, simply because I'm secretly a genius. It's a very very religious school, and there are three different uniforms on different days. Monday; a white long sleeved thick material shirt with a blue pinafore that goes down to the toes. And long tights are encouraged to be worn underneath. WTF. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; even worse; a sickly green long sleeved thick material shirt with the same blue pinafore as the Monday one. Tights recommended. I suppose Fridays are best; white long sleeved thick material shirt same as Monday, with long white trousers. Still extremely warm. And for PE, it's an orange (not 100% cotton) long sleeved shirt with long green trousers. And everyday, it's a must to wear the head covering shawl us Muslims wear. So now you should be able to imagine my horror. But the school isn't all that bad. The English is better than the usual local school, since my school is a private one. Lots of religious studies though. I'm not very religious. Hopefully my faith will increase or something like that.

OH MY GOD. A man on a horse just went all clippity clop past the house. COOL. Yeah. And now I'm getting attacked by mosquitoes. Good day, all of you lovelies. I'll be watching Honey Boo Boo now, that show's hilarious. Goodbye!

Love always,

24/10/2012 The X Factor USA Reveal

Dear Friend,

Hi. Today is a sad day. Got my report card, it wasn't marvelous exactly, but that's not why I'm so sad. Watched some pewdiepie on YouTube with a good friend after school. That isn't why I'm sad either. That was fun. I think I gained a six pack from laughing so hard. But when I got home, I watched the Reveal of The X Factor USA contestants. Here are the Reveal vids:

I find it so hard to accept that Jillian Jensen isn't continuing on in this competition. I'm not saying that she should go instead of CeCe, because CeCe is amazing too, in her own way. I believe they should both go. That scene where Jennel Garcia (who got through and is Jillian's BFF on the show) comforts Jillian and cries together, it got me crying.

That Reed Deming is so mature for his own age. He really wants this, I can tell, yet he still has the heart to congratulate the rest. I'm so happy Beatrice Miller is going through, her voice is heavenly. So very earthy and fresh.

Carly Rose Sonenclar is unbelievable. That voice coming from a 13 year old? Gosh.

And she got through! I'm happy.

I love The X Factor so much because it shows people like me, with the same ambitions, get the chance of their lives. It makes me feel so many things and I can relate. I swear though, I'm not being paid for these X Factor stuff. That's hilarious. I just do these 'cause I do.

Love always,

The X Factor UK.

Okay, so- The X Factor UK. I cannot express enough love for that show. It produced some real neat stars. Cher Lloyd, One Direction (*SCREAM*), LEONA LEWIS, Matt Cardle, etc. etc. You know the list goes on.

This year, I really support James Arthur. And Ella Henderson. And I'd love for Lucy Spraggan to get signed, but she isn't really a reality talent show type of singer, more of a recording artist type. If that made sense to you. And I like Union J. I like their faces. George Shelley is beautiful. And they can sing. But JAMES please. Or Ella. #votejames #voteella. In case you don't watch The X Factor UK, here are some videos:

Ella Henderson's Audition

James Arthur's Performance at Judge's House

Union J's Performance This Week (Live Shows Week 2)

Lucy Spraggan's Audition

YOU'RE WELCOME.
They're amazing, aren't they? Hopefully this gets you to start tracking The X Factor, at least on YouTube. My favourite singing reality contest.

So, why I love James Arthur so much. To me, it seems like James is the kind of person who's pretty closed up on the outside, and usually doesn't show himself too much emotionally when he's doing everyday things. But when he starts singing, it's like he's pouring his soul out (like how I writemysoulout, hehe. I tend to use 'soul' instead of 'heart', because I find it more powerful and closer to the truth). You hear that pain in his voice. You literally hear it. He's incredible. He's gone through a lot in life, and he expresses it in his music. He deserves this, to get a chance to show people who he is as a person, and to share this heartbreakingly beautiful music with everybody. Music, to me, is a way to put your emotions and feelings into something beautiful. And that's what James does. I hope he wins.

On to Ella Henderson. Her first audition reduced me to tears. My grandpa died a couple years ago, and he was such a sweet and incredible person, who loved me. And the way she songwrites, it's unbelievable that she's only 16. Her voice too, it's so OLD. In the best way possible. Her voice is like that of an old soul. It's beautiful, and recently, Louis Walsh (one of the judges) said that the show has never gotten such a voice ever since Leona Lewis. Leona Lewis. I mean, that is HUGE. But I agree. She can be compared to Adele, she's that good. Only sixteen, gosh.

Lucy Spraggan now. She is the ultimate recording artist. She's a bit like Ed Sheeran. GENIUS, with her songwriting. Her voice too, it's very unique. She can't do a whole big range of different types of music, but when she does her stuff, it's mind-blowing. I hope she gets signed to a record label soon and can already come out with an album. I love her.

Last but not least, Union J. They're kind of like One Direction, minus the incredible one-of-a-kind personalities and that effect that One Direction just has on you. I don't know, I'm not really a mainstream type of girl, but One Direction just has this thing which makes me love them. It's so weird yet enticing. I mean, their bromances and personalities and shit, it's what makes them, them. ANYWAY, this is supposed to be about Union J. Union J has the looks, the character (at least, from what I know so far they do), the voices (boyband-type voices), and whatever else is needed to appeal to girls. They have a strong female following, and that's definitely going to help them in the competition. I think they could be big, they really appeal to us girls. I just have a soft spot for George Shelley. As long as they do the right songs, they could smash this and go on to rule the world, like what One Direction did. So boys, watch out.

So, I think that was it. I still can't believe I'm leaving Singapore. This is so weird, everything's still pretty much the same. Life is like a rollercoaster. Once you're up the next you're down. Oh Zayn, your wiseness has affected me. Never mind. My trainers are soaked, another big downpour today. My oh-so-tough friend Sheryl SCREAMED when the first thunder sounded. I actually ducked, the sound was so surprising and LOUD. But I actually don't mind, it reminds me of England, and I can dream that I'm actually there. Oh, and speaking of England, my relative who's studying there got me a guide about Stonehenge, and now I can add that to my collection of genuinely-from-the-UK-British-things. I sound obsessed, and I am. It's just it's a big part of my future, going to England. I want to live there, I love the weather, the places, the people, the hustle and bustle of London, the calm and quiet and general prettiness of the villages. It feels like home, even though I've never even been there.
Well this was a long goodbye paragraph. Really goodbye now, then. Good bye!

Love always,
Tia xxx

Just a random wishlist.

Word of the day:

Acquiesce (from the song Acquiesce by that amazing band called Oasis)

Lately, I've been feeling like there's a lot of missing pieces in this big puzzle we call Life. Maybe it's because I'm only 13. Well, it probably is. But still, here are several things I wish for;

♛ an acoustic guitar
♛ a decent mp3 player
♛ decent pocket money
♛ a haircut
♛ Oasis to suddenly make more good music
♛ a book by me, published
♛ an olive colour beanie
♛ several pretty blazers
♛ British/UK-related things
♛ me to speak in a British accent for the rest of my life
♛ Ed Sheeran's '+' album
all Taylor Swift's albums
♛ all All Time Low's albums
♛ Adele's '21' album

☠ a record deal
☠ someone to unconditionally love me no matter what and to actually show it
☠ people who don't know me in real life, but understands who I am more than anybody else who actually do
☠ a best friend on Wattpad
a chance to  go to England, or even LIVE there
☠ people to actually read my blog
☠ a good time on my birthday, even though it'll be spent in Indonesia, it'll be on a school day, and I'll be the new kid in a religious school
☠ my friends in Singapore to miss me, but to continue to live their lives and have fun
☠ people to enjoy my music

Doom And Gloom- The Stones are Rolling again.

THE ROLLING STONES ARE BACK. When I found out, I was so excited. And I'm not disappointed. Doom And Gloom is brilliant. BRIT-iant. So punny. But yeah, I love it. The critics say Mick's voice is a bit off, but I don't hear it in this. Then again, it could be editing. Anyway he's ancient, and I don't care though, it sounds amazing.

The Stones are Rolling again.

DOOOOOOOM AND GLOOOM.

Yesterday. Post-examination period. New torture.

Dear Friend,

Yesterday was really eventful. In the morning, I attended the auditions/rehearsals for the "Comm Arts Showcase" at my school. Basically, several people were picked to audition for a place in the showcase, it's a poetry/drama showcase. I messed up big time. Only managed to remember 2 stanzas out of 7. It was pretty sad. But I'm kind of glad, because imagine how much I'd mess up in front of the whole of Secondary 1 and special guests and all. And anyways I had fun watching the other performances, and one of my best friends got through, so I'm really happy for her.

So, after that, my friend and I went to 7-Eleven on our way home. Since I thought I'd be going straight home from there, I decided to spend most of my money on a bottle of Starbucks' Caramel Frappucino, which is like, the only caffeine thing I love. After fooling around at 7-Eleven, we got a call from a primary school to meet up with the other primary school friends. So we did. It was surprisingly fun to talk to teachers and each each other. We left the school after an hour, and went to a corner shop selling bubble tea that was a favourite among us when we were in that school. That shop also owned a DVD/CD/VCD shop, and that day, had a sale of 1 VCD for $1! I found Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, and since I'd recently lost my BluRay version, I decided to get this one, but I had to borrow money from a friend. It works though, so I was dancing my happy dance, but you wouldn't want to know how that looks like. After that we hung around, played Truth Or Dare, did some cray cray things, Would You Rather, danced to Gangnam Style, all the shit friends do. Then the boys left, and us girls went to a mall (my bus trip payed for by another friend), and pigged out and gossiped over countless chips and onion rings at Burger King. We ended up spending 3 hours just at Burger King, and made ourselves a group called KAQQ. It's a rebellion group. Rebelling what, I won't tell. It was a great day, mostly.

But I feel terrible, living on others' money. Even though I am going to pay them back...

Oh yeah. So all this was able to happen yesterday, because THE EXAMS HAVE FINISHED!!! *insert screaming and shouting and madness*

But here comes the but (But... but... so punny)... BUT (haha, another but) now there's a new torture: The Countdown. The countdown to when I have to leave Singapore. Now I have 16 days left. Which may sound quite a lot, but actually passes really fast. I have a lot to say on this subject, but I think that'll be for another post. This was long enough.

-16 DAYS TO GO-

Six Degrees Of Depression.

Wish I could go a day without being so depressed. Take away the romance reference, and this song describes everything. Spent the whole day being blamed and getting hurt and crying. In fact, still crying. I thought families were supposed to help you through this, not cause this.

Exams, exams, exams. And Science.

Sooo. To anybody reading this (probably nobody, haha), it's the exam period. Tomorrow's the last day of the exams, and I should be happy, but I'm not. Thing is, I usually don't really care about my academics, but today was the Maths and Comm Arts (English) paper. I usually ace English (totally not bragging), but the paper today was darn hard. And I pretty much guaranteed myself a fail grade for Maths. Like I said earlier, I'd usually not care, but my Maths tuition teacher's been teaching me again this year and I've never disappointed her before. I don't want to disappoint her just before I leave Singapore (yeah, I'm leaving...). She's the best teacher ever, and I'm just a terrible student. So yep.

And I'm not making anything better by writing a stupid blog post instead of actually revising for Science, which is tomorrow. I really suck, gah. Never listened during Science lessons this whole year, so I've still got a couple months' worth of revision. And it's fucking midnight. I wish my school didn't set such hard papers. I got A's all the time for other schools' papers, but when I sat for the Maths today, it was absolute torture, my God. I should probably stop writing. Rants like this aren't entertaining. Or deep and meaningful and shit. It's just a rant. I swear periodic tables should just flip over (referring to them as actual 'tables'). I don't understand them. And all the other fantastic, wonderful, and amazing facts that make up the horrifying subject of Science. My left brain doesn't work. I can understand notes and music sheets and art and literature and photography and music and beauty in general, all things that require my right brain, but symbols and xs and ys and numbers and formulae and terms don't make any sense to me.

I feel slightly better now. Whoever you are, wherever you are, thanks for reading this post, even though you're most probably nonexistent. I still love all you satellites (reference to Astronaut by Simple Plan. Great song).

Love always,
Tia xxx

Brief introduction to who I am and things I love.

"I ᴛʜɪɴᴋ ᴇᴀᴄʜ ᴀɴᴅ ᴇᴠᴇʀʏ ᴏɴᴇ ᴏғ ᴜs ᴀʟʀᴇᴀᴅʏ ʜᴀᴅ ᴀ ʟɪᴛᴛʟᴇ ʙɪᴛ ᴏғ ᴜs ɪɴ ᴏᴜʀsᴇʟᴠᴇs, ᴇᴠᴇɴ ʙᴇғᴏʀᴇ ᴡᴇ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ʙᴏʀɴ. Aɴᴅ ᴇᴠᴇɴ ɴᴏᴡ ᴡᴇ'ʀᴇ sᴛɪʟʟ ғɪɴᴅɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴘᴀʀᴛ ᴏғ ᴏᴜʀsᴇʟᴠᴇs ᴀɴᴅ ᴄʀᴇᴀᴛɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ʀᴇsᴛ ᴏғ ᴡʜᴀᴛ ᴍᴀᴋᴇs ᴜs, ᴜs." ― Tɪᴀ Hᴀɴɪғᴀ

Music is my soul. Stories my life. I can't wait to get my guitar.

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, Harry Potter, The Books of Bayern, A Little Princess, Cathy Cassidy's, award-winning books, good books here and there.

Coldplay, All Time Low, Ed Sheeran, The Script, OneRepublic, Snow Patrol, Birdy, Taylor Swift, Two Door Cinema Club, Adele, Snow Patrol, Linkin Park, Maroon 5, The Beatles, Elton John, Rolling Stones, Guns N' Roses, Train, Oasis, The Fray, P!nk, Demi Lovato, and other good music.

I love red.

I've an obsession with red velvet cupcakes, moustaches (yes, I spell them with an 'o', ok). And the personalities of One Direction. They're closer than brothers, it's so special.

I adore band shirts, comfy skirts, blazers, and red trousers. Hi tops and sneakers and loafers and boots and floral flats. I always wear my signature beanie, Union Jack ring and genuinely-from-London LONDON keychain-cum-necklace. I like my hair braided.
